Hi all, I thought I’d share with you some of the spectacular artists that I met at Bazaar Bizarre!
First up is the talented Jen Lorang, who makes all kinds of jewelry and great prints. If you went to BazBiz you could not miss her booth; it was a work of art made out of old, weathered wood. Her arrangement of jewelry and tarot cards had me at Hello.
I’ve always heard rumors that artists trade their goods at craft fairs, and I’m back to report that the rumor is true! It is so flattering to find a mutual feeling of excitement over the other’s art work. I traded Jen a few dresses for this lovely ship necklace and some wonderful prints.
Off to Neverland! I have a small obsession with necklaces, and this one is a real treasure. I love the vintage clasp and the mix of chain.
I also picked up a few of these lovely prints, one for me and one to thank my bestie for letting me use her house as my workshop during the power outage. Let me tell you exactly why this print is so awesome. First, I liked it because it correlated the moon and a woman’s menstrual cycle. If you haven’t read Cunt, you should. Inga Muscio will break all this down for you.
Second, the print is just my asthetic. I love the colour, and I love the shape. But the best thing about it is that it is a period-tracker. You can mark the first day of your cycle every month, and pretty soon a pattern will develope on the calendar that helps you predict! If you have a vagina, or know anyone that has one, you have got to check this out. Get one for you or your bestie here.
